"Mirror City" is an audio-visual performance by composer and performer Dasom Baek, presented at the 2021 Arts Council Korea Creative Hub Showcase. The piece sets the traditional Korean daegeum against real-time interactive visuals — the performed works "Human Machine" and "Deep Sea" moving through themes of identity, technology, and the inner life.
With visual direction by Yangho Sinn and an interactive system by Jaeyoung Shin, "Mirror City" pulls the audience into a space where ancient melodies meet a futuristic landscape. The work sits comfortably with very different audiences — from listeners new to Korean traditional music or media art to specialists in either field.
